How Anne-Marie supported us.

Anne-Marie was recommended to us by our SEND case worker. This was due to her experience and understanding of Pathological Demand Avoidance. Her approach is amazing and we value her advice greatly.

Anne-Marie really makes learning fun and very individualised. Our son's behaviour has really improved and we no longer see him experiencing a meltdown after a lesson. We have tried numerous tutors, but none have built a rapport with him or understood PDA.

We would highly recommend Anne-Marie as a SEN tutor.

Mr & Mrs A Hickson

Anne-Marie has provided twice weekly tutoring for our home educated child for two years. We are delighted to have found her as she has delivered fantastic support. She is sensitive in her approach, knowledgeable and effective in strategies to reduce anxiety and demand avoidance. Anne-Marie has built a positive relationship with our child and has also been very supportive and respectful of us as parents which we value hugely.
She has offered advice on the EHCP process, and several times gone the extra mile providing professional feedback for this and other purposes. We would certainly recommend Anne-Marie as a SEN tutor and family support worker.

Anne-Marie supported us through the EHCP progress and really understood the struggles we faced. She was very respectful to us and supported us through a very difficult time with our daughter. We received the final EHCP 6 months ago and our daughter is now receiving the correct support. She loves her new school and Anne-Marie even helped with our daughter's transition into school. Our daughter had been out of education for over a year!

Thank you so much for your support.

I was told my daughter would never read or write! After a few months working with Anne-Marie, she is able to write her name and a few CVC words. She is now able to read low level books and knows all her phonic sounds. My daughter is now able to count and recognise/write the numbers 1 - 25. Her receptive and expressive language skills have greatly improved and Anne-Marie worked along side our Speech and Language Therapist to support this.

I cannot thank Anne-Marie enough for the progress my daughter has made in such little time!

I have employed Anne-Marie to home school my 8 year old daughter who has ASD, PDA, Speech and Language delay and Behavioural problems.  My daughter hated school and learning and she is still in KS1 after yet another school letting her down I turned to Anne-Marie who has turned my daughter around. She now loves learning!  Anne-Marie implemented a behavioural plan for her and we no longer see meltdowns, she engages in lessons and she now tells me she loves learning.
Anne-Marie works really hard differentiating her lesson plans with many options so my daughter has a choice of how she's going to learn a subject so she feels in control.
She's always on time and always has time to talk to me about any problems out of lesson time and she has been very supportive with my situation regarding my daughters schooling.
Anne-Marie brings her own resources and has purchased more to suit my daughters needs.
I know from experience if Anne-Marie does not know the answer to a question or a problem I have she will go away and research it and come back to you with an answer, even if you didn't ask her to.
She is a genuinely lovely person.

Anne-Marie, where would we be without you? Thank you so much for being fun, understanding, inspiring and so creative! Our boys love seeing you and knowing you are always supportive and smiley. The visual learning aids, games and resources you choose and design have helped our boys with their literacy and numeracy already so much. They have increased their knowledge and confidence (and taught me a lot too!)
The way you teach is ingenious - here’s to our next session! Thank you A, J, Ch + M

What an amazing lady! Anne-Marie has so much personal and professional experience that gives her a unique ability in supporting families. She really does understand what we have been through (hell & back). She is very supportive & non-judgmental of us as parents. We are so glad she came into our lives when she did. Anne-Marie really understands mental health issues.

I would recommend Anne-Marie to anyone in need of her support. She has been fantastic and her concerns about our son's anxiety, led to his diagnosis.
