I'm Anne-Marie and I understand the needs of families that have children with additional needs. I have five children and three of my daughters have SEN. I have faced the same struggles as many other parents sadly face. My daughter became a 'school refuser' due to severe anxiety and undiagnosed ASC. I struggled to continue to work full time and care for my daughter while she was not receiving an education. I completed a course on SEN Law and completed a parental request for an EHCP - I was thankfully successful. My daughter is now receiving an education in an independent school.

During my time employed within schools, I have gathered evidence for EHCPs and have a good understanding of them through meeting the needs of individual children. As a professional it is important that I support the outcomes pertained within a child's EHCP.

I have been a carer throughout my life, looking after family members. This has included family members with Autism (ASC), mental health, visual impairment, SPD, PDA, SPLD, selective mutism and severe anxiety.

I have worked within education for almost 11 years and I worked as a volunteer to help support families via a well known organisation in Surrey. I am an LA approved tutor and I have worked for three local authorities. I also support families as a support worker and provide support for behavioural difficulties, anxiety, PDA, mental health and emotional regulation.

I have received the required training/certification within my job roles in mainstream and independent school (SEN) settings, including Team Teach, EYFS, child development, SEN law, auditory processing, sensory diets, EBD, ODD, Dyslexia, ADHD/ADD, epilepsy, Dyspraxia, educational psychology, mental health, SEN advanced, PDA, ASC, visual impairment, Makaton, self harm, safeguarding, FGM, zones of regulation, SLCN, behaviour, child development, anxiety, sensory processing, physical disabilities, Down Syndrome, and learning difficulties. . I have just achieved my level 2 qualification on Pathological Demand Avoidance, after several years of experience with supporting individuals with PDA.

I have excellent differentiation skills that help children to access their learning that is complemented by an excellent knowledge of differing types of SEN needs. I have worked with a range of professionals such as SALT, OT, EFT, educational psychologists, play therapists, visual/hearing impairment advisors and SEN advisors.

Over the years I have helped to identify and provide evidence to support referrals for diagnosis of PDA and Selective Mutism. I have been successful in implementing positive behaviour plans and seen great progress and improved mental health within the child/young adult.

I tutor on a 1:1 basis within your home and create an individualised approach that supports your child's needs. I understand the importance of confidentiality and I am registered with the DBS update service; I have full enhanced DBS for adults and children. I am emergency first aid trained and have completed care certificate training including manual handling. I also provide training/ awareness of girls on the Autistic Spectrum.
